This product is an aftermarket accessory, not a helicopter kit. The set contains resin landing gear wheels for models of the heavy transport helicopter in the CH-53G, CH-53E and CH-53J versions and for the special MH-53M, in 1:48 scale. The wheels have the tread and the hub rendered in detail and tend to be made with a hint of load, which on a heavy machine adds a great deal to the realistic impression of a helicopter standing on the ground.
The CH-53 series is among the heaviest Western transport helicopters. The versions differ in powerplant and equipment; multirole and special variants such as the MH-53M served on demanding tasks including operations in poor conditions. The rugged landing gear carries massive wheels, and a faithful rendering of them brings a model to life.
Separate the wheels from the casting blocks, wash off the remains of mold release agent and clean them up. They are bonded with super glue (cyanoacrylate). On loaded wheels, mind the orientation of the flat contact face. Sand with respiratory protection; masking the boundary between tire and hub makes painting them easier.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base model are not included in the package.
