About product

Metal 76.2 mm F-32 Barrel for the KV-1 1:48 (Aber)

A turned metal barrel in 1:48 scale from the Polish firm Aber. It is not a model but an accessory replacing the plastic barrel of a kit. The metal version guarantees an exactly round profile with no glue seam and a clean muzzle, which on the slender F-32 barrel noticeably raises realism.

The real subject

The 76.2 mm F-32 tank gun was the Soviet armament of the early versions of the KV-1 heavy tank in the first part of the Second World War. It replaced the older L-11 gun and offered better ballistics; later it was superseded by further 76mm systems.

Usage and painting tips

Cut off the plastic barrel and clean up the seat, then fit the metal one and fix it with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Degrease the metal before gluing and use a primer suitable for metal. The barrel looks its best once the base green and light wear have been applied.

Who the accessory is for

  • modelers building the KV-1 in 1:48 scale
  • anyone after a faithful barrel with no seams
  • builders used to metal accessories

This is an accessory, not a model. The kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
