The Su-30SM is a Russian-built two-seat multirole combat aircraft from the Su-27 family. The crew sits in tandem and works with a cockpit in which multifunction screens make up the main part of the instrumentation. Those are exactly what give a model in 1:48 scale the most trouble: empty dark surfaces look dead, whereas screens with content show that the aircraft is ready to fly.
Add-on elements showing lit displays for both cockpits. They are prepared as an addition to the cockpit sets listed under the numbers QD and QDS 48667, that is, to the cockpit equipment of the Su-30SM kit from Zvezda in 1:48 scale. This is not a standalone interior but the elements that are fitted into one.
Dip the sheet briefly in lukewarm water and slide the element off the backing paper onto gloss clear, which holds it in place; it has no adhesive layer of its own, and a softener would attack the printed resin. Let the surface they go onto dry completely and clear it of dust and grease. Work with fine-tipped tweezers and seat the element on the first attempt, as repeated sliding does its surface no good. Finish the cockpit before you close up the fuselage and fit the canopy; once it is glued together you cannot get inside. The exact procedure for each part is given in the manufacturer's instructions.
