The Supermarine Spitfire Mk.VC Malta Defenders is a plastic kit of the British fighter aircraft in 1:48 scale from the Czech manufacturer Special Hobby with period markings of the defenders of Malta.

An injection-molded plastic kit of the famous British fighter aircraft Supermarine Spitfire in the Mk.VC version in 1:48 scale. The edition focuses on the machines defending the island of Malta. The model makes it possible to build the C type wing, and parts are available for the variant with two as well as with four cannon. The package is completed by photo-etched parts for the belts and fine cockpit details and by a decal sheet with several period schemes.
The Spitfire Mk.V was one of the most widespread versions of the legendary fighter, powered by a Rolls-Royce Merlin engine. The C type wing, the universal one, allowed various armament including four cannon. Machines of this version played a key role in the defense of Malta in 1942, when the island faced intense air pressure in the Mediterranean.
The short-run tooling calls for cleaning the parts up and for dry-fitting. Use thin cement on the plastic and attach the photo-etch with super glue. Before the decals we recommend a gloss varnish, and for the period Mediterranean camouflage an airbrush and masking of the clear parts are suitable.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
