An injection-molded plastic kit of the famous Spitfire in the Mk.Vc version in 1:48 scale from the Czech manufacturer Special Hobby. The edition concentrates on machines in the colors of the Royal Australian Air Force. The kit makes it possible to assemble the C type wing and is usually completed by photo-etched parts for cockpit details and by a decal sheet with several Australian schemes.
The Spitfire Mk.V with its Rolls-Royce Merlin engine belonged to the most widespread versions of this British fighter. The C type wing, the universal one, carried cannon armament. Machines in the service of the Australian air force came into their own above all in the Pacific area, where they defended northern Australia against raids and escorted Allied operations.
The short-run tooling calls for cleaning the parts up and for dry-fitting. Use thin cement on the plastic and attach the photo-etch with super glue. Before the decals we recommend a gloss varnish, and an airbrush will make the transitions of the period camouflage easier; mask the clear parts before spraying.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
