In 1:48 scale the model comes out fairly large thanks to the great span of the slender wing, even though the real machine is one of the smaller aerial vehicles. Clear Prop Models also offers matching accessories for the machine in the same family, so the model can be fitted out further later on.
The Bayraktar TB2 is a Turkish medium-altitude long-endurance unmanned aerial vehicle developed by the Baykar company. Its layout is characteristic: a slender fuselage with the propeller mounted at the rear as a pusher, two tail booms and a joined tail in the shape of an inverted V. The high-mounted wing of large aspect ratio is suited to long endurance at low speeds. Under the wing there are pylons for light precision munitions; in the forward fuselage there is an electro-optical turret for reconnaissance and guidance. The machine serves in a number of countries for reconnaissance and observation and has become one of the most widespread unmanned aerial vehicles in its category.
The slender booms and the joined tail are the most vulnerable place in the build on this type: glue them home according to the template in the instructions and let them cure properly, otherwise the whole tail section will twist. Finish the inside of the forward section before closing the fuselage and consider whether the model needs nose weight so that it stands on its landing gear. Use thin cement on the plastic and close the gaps with a thin plastic strip instead of putty, so that you do not lose the engraving. Painting tends to be simple on these machines, and the quality of the surface stands out all the more: spray a primer, check the seams against the light and only then spray the covering shade. Leave the propeller and the electro-optical turret until the very end so that they are not damaged during handling.
