U.S. fuel drums 55 gal. (1:48, MiniArt)

A set of modeling accessories: American fuel drums of 55 gallons in 1:48 scale from MiniArt. It is not a model of a vehicle or an aircraft but a set of small injection-molded plastic drums meant for finishing off dioramas, display cases and scenes around equipment. The drums have faithfully rendered ribs, welds and filler caps, and according to the manufacturer a decal sheet with fuel and warning markings is included as well.

What the set is for

• Completing dioramas with American equipment of the Second World War and of later conflicts
• Filling airfield aprons, fuel dumps and unit rear areas
• Bringing a display case to life around a vehicle or aircraft model in 1:48 scale

Building and painting tips

Cut the parts off the sprues and join them with a thin plastic cement, then sand the seams. Spray the drums in a base shade, add the decals and then you can age them: a wash into the ribs, metal chipping on the edges and rust with pigments. Drums dirtied and dented in different ways look natural in a scene.

The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
