The multimedia kit Azur V-156F Vindicator, French Navy (1:48) - the French carrier dive bomber of the early Second World War.
Responsibility details are not available.
This kit from the Azur brand captures in 1:48 scale the French naval version of the Vought V-156F Vindicator dive bomber as French naval aviation used it at the beginning of the Second World War. It is a short-run multimedia kit: besides injection-molded plastic with clear parts it holds a photo-etched fret, resin parts and a good decal sheet with French markings. That makes it better suited to more experienced modelers.
The Vought V-156F was the export naval version of the American SB2U Vindicator carrier dive bomber, delivered to French naval aviation. Among other units it served with carrier squadrons that also operated from the aircraft carrier Béarn, and it took part in the fighting of 1940. It was one of the first all-metal carrier dive bombers of its day.
With a short-run kit, count on cleaning up the parts, dressing the sprue gates and dry-fitting to check the fit. Wash the resin parts free of mold release agent and glue them with cyanoacrylate glue, and use liquid modeling cement on the plastic. Apply a primer before painting, spray the camouflage with an airbrush and mask the cockpit glazing. A gloss clear coat under the decals will limit silvering.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
