An injection-molded plastic kit of the British twin-engine bomber Vickers Wellington Mk.IC in 1:48 scale from Trumpeter. It is a large model with finely engraved surfaces, complemented by clear plastic, photo-etched metal, decals and rubber tires. The kit offers a richly divided interior, a well worked out bomb bay and detailed engines, and it belongs among the true giants of a shelf.
The Vickers Wellington was a British twin-engine medium bomber of the Second World War. It became famous for its geodetic fuselage structure covered with fabric, which was exceptionally resistant to battle damage. The Mk.IC version was one of the most widespread early variants and formed the backbone of British bomber aviation in the first years of the war, when Wellingtons operated mostly at night over occupied Europe.
Work in subassemblies and use a thin cement for plastic; bond the photo-etched and clear parts with super glue. Finish and paint the rich interior and the bomb bay before the fuselage is closed, because they are clearly visible through the glazed windows. Apply a primer before painting and lay the colors on with an airbrush. You will appreciate the detailed engines with the cowlings open, and fit the metal landing gear carefully according to the instructions.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
