This photo-etched set from the Czech maker Eduard serves to detail the outer surfaces of a model of the Vickers Wellington Mk.I bomber in 1:48 scale. It is not an airplane kit but an accessory that sharpens up the surface details injection-molded plastic cannot capture at the right thickness.
The photo-etched parts replace and supplement fine exterior features, for example access covers, grilles, latches, small panels and other surface details. Thanks to the negligible thickness of the metal, the model reads considerably more faithfully once assembled.
Separate the parts with a sharp knife on a hard surface, bend them in a bending tool or with the help of a razor blade and glue them with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Before painting, degrease the metal and treat it with a primer for good adhesion.
This is a modeling accessory. The kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
