1:48 Windows assorted set is a photo-etched set of window frames of various shapes for buildings and ruins in a diorama in 1:48 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
An assembly of window frames of various sizes and divisions, made by photo-etching from thin metal sheet. The etched fret measures approximately 87x100 mm and offers windows that can be set into masonry one by one or put together into a larger glazed wall. It is with windows in particular that etching is irreplaceable: the bars between the panes are a few centimeters thick in reality and a casting can never make them thin enough.
Most often in the cutouts of workshop and residential buildings, in ruins or in the backdrops of railroad stations and factories. An empty opening in a wall looks flat, whereas a frame set into it gives the scene depth and adds a sense of scale from which the viewer immediately judges the size of a vehicle standing beside it.
Nip the parts out of the fret on a hard surface, sand the remains of the tabs down with a small file and degrease the metal before painting, otherwise the coat will peel. Clear film or a thin transparent sheet glued on from behind will replace the glazing, or the window can be left empty and only shards added. Rust spots and peeling paint on the frames go a long way for very little work.
Glazing film, glue and paints are not included in the package.
