Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the British Bedford MWD 15-cwt light truck in the General Service configuration for the Royal Air Force (RAF) in 1:48 scale from Airfix. It is a kit of modest difficulty, suitable for less experienced modelers as well; the decals offer two different options. Go by the instructions supplied for the exact contents.
The Bedford MWD was a British light truck of 15 hundredweight payload, that is, roughly 750 kg. It was one of the most widespread support vehicles of the British and Commonwealth forces in the Second World War. It carried personnel, ammunition and material and served as a liaison and towing vehicle. The RAF used it widely for airfield work and ground support, where it prepared aircraft for operations. Its folding windshield earned it a nickname connected with the draft in the open cab.
The vehicle has a busy chassis and axles, so assemble and clean them up first. Use liquid cement on the plastic, sand the joints after filling and apply primer. British vehicles are painted in khaki and brown-green shades; dark washes into the recesses give depth, a dry brush picks out the edges, and dust and mud pigments go on the wheels, the fenders and the underside. Do not forget small items such as the lights and the windshield, which gloss varnish brings to life.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
