An injection-molded plastic kit of the legendary ocean liner RMS Titanic from Hobby Boss in 1:550 scale. It is a large model, buildable with a full hull; a stand with a nameplate is usually included. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted; for the exact contents of the box and any extras (thread for the rigging, flags) go by the enclosed instructions and the markings on the box.
Titanic was a British ocean liner of the White Star Line, in her day one of the largest and most luxurious ships in the world. On her maiden voyage from Europe to New York in April 1912 she struck an iceberg and sank, with more than 1500 people losing their lives. The disaster became one of the best known in the history of sea transport and led to a tightening of safety regulations at sea.
On a large model like this, first glue and fill the hull carefully. Characteristic are the four funnels and the black, white and ocher color scheme of the liner – a black hull, white superstructures and ocher funnels with black tops. The decks with their engraved planking pattern come out well with a thin wash. Fit the small cranes, boats and railings at the end; use the enclosed or a modeling thread to suggest the rigging.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
