This injection-molded plastic kit captures the American M4A3E8 Sherman medium tank in the wargaming scale of 1:56. The set is conceived as a quick and straightforward build: it contains a figure of a tank crewman and decals for several versions, among them markings recalling the famous war film. The smaller scale and the lower parts count make it an ideal model for collectors and for tabletop games alike.
The M4A3E8, nicknamed the Easy Eight, was the ultimate form of the Sherman tank at the end of the Second World War. It received a powerful 76 mm gun and the new HVSS suspension with wider tracks, which improved both the ride and the stability of its gunnery. This version served at the end of the war and in the conflicts that followed, and it became one of the best-known symbols of American armor.
Finish and paint the running gear and the lower hull before you close the superstructure up. A thin cement for plastic suits the model, along with a base coat through an airbrush and a patina of washes and pigments to bring out the cast surfaces, the tracks and the mud effects. The tank crewman figure can be placed in the turret to bring the whole scene to life.
