Anakin's Starfighter in 1:58 scale from Revell is a starter set, that is, a plastic kit of the film machine supplied in a package with paints.
Responsibility details are not available.
A plastic kit of a fighter craft from the world of Star Wars in 1:58 scale. The package is conceived as a starter set with paints, though the exact contents and the number of shades are not stated here. A science-fiction subject is a rewarding one for a first model built alone: the shape is easy to read, there tend to be fewer parts than on aircraft, and the result is striking even without advanced weathering.
This is the single-seat fighter craft of the Jedi knights from the Star Wars prequel trilogy, associated with the character of Anakin Skywalker. Characteristic are the wedge-shaped fuselage with the glazed cockpit set forward, the pair of engine nacelles at the sides and the striking yellow or red emphasis on the leading surfaces, which sets the craft apart from the similar craft of other characters. The 1:58 scale is a box scale derived from the size of the finished model, not an ordinary modeling scale.
A science-fiction model needs above all a clean surface and a sharp transition between colors. Sand the mold seams, unify the surface with a primer and make the color stripes with masking tape rather than freehand. Glue the cockpit glazing with a glue that does not cloud the clear part. Apply decals onto a gloss coat compatible with the paint used, and once dry unify the surface with a matte or satin clear. Restrained weathering, that is, a gentle darkening of the panel lines and a light chipping of the edges, gives the film craft a used look.
The model is supplied unassembled. The package is a starter set with paints; the exact contents and the way the parts join are not stated here.
