Responsibility details are not available.
Plastic kit of a Viking longship in 1:60 scale from the Czech manufacturer Smer. The assembled model is roughly 30 cm long and captures the typical shape of a drakkar with its raised bow and stern, rowing benches and a mast with a sail. Thanks to the lower parts count it is a rewarding project for a rainy afternoon.
The drakkar was a fast Viking longship used for voyages at sea and on rivers. It was a slim warship with a single bank of oars, a lowering mast and a large sail, steered by a side steering oar. With these ships the Vikings undertook both trading and war expeditions all over northern Europe.
Separate the parts carefully from the sprues and clean off the flash. Use cement for plastic for the joints. Paint the hull in wood shades and bring the surface to life with a dark wash that picks out the planks. The sail and the shields along the sides can be painted to period patterns, which gives the model real atmosphere. Fit the mast and any rigging at the end of the build so that they do not get damaged in handling, and the sail can be shaped gently into a slight curve, as if the wind were filling it.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
