An item in 1:700 scale to the subject of the aircraft carrier Liaoning, the first aircraft carrier of the Chinese navy.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Liaoning is the first aircraft carrier of the Chinese navy. Her hull was built back in the Soviet Union as the second unit of the Kuznetsov class, but after the breakup of the state it was left unfinished and without armament. China bought the part-built ship, towed her to its own shipyard and, after a long conversion, took her into service in 2012. She serves above all for training and for building up experience with carrier aviation, which until then the Chinese navy had not had.
The most striking feature is the raised bow with a ski jump. The ship has no catapults and the aircraft lift off the deck under their own power after running up the raised end of the bow, which can be told from the silhouette at a glance. The superstructure above the deck is offset to starboard and carries large planar radar arrays, and the landing area runs at an angle to the axis of the ship. J-15 fighters and helicopters serve on the deck.
1:700 is the most widespread scale for ships: even a large ship fits on a shelf in it, while enough room is left for detail. The parts in this scale tend to be small, so it pays to work with tweezers over a light surface and to keep a sharp blade to hand.
Paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
