Injection-molded plastic kit of the guided-missile cruiser Marshal Ustinov in 1:700 scale from Trumpeter. The model can be built either as a full-hull version or as a waterline one, and the box also includes a display base and a decal sheet. The finished model measures roughly 26.5 cm.
Marshal Ustinov belongs to the Slava class (Project 1164) — large guided-missile cruisers with rows of angled anti-ship missile canisters along the sides of the superstructure. The ship was completed in the mid-1980s and is marked out by a prominent pyramidal superstructure with radars and by extensive air-defense and anti-ship armament.
Decide in advance between the full-hull and the waterline version. Glue the fine parts and any photo-etched extras with cyanoacrylate glue, and the plastic parts with thin modeling cement. Treat the hull and the decks with a primer and paint with an airbrush; the railings, radars and masts are rewarding subjects for aftermarket photo-etched sets.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
