An injection-molded plastic kit of the American carrier-based aircraft Douglas AD-5Q Skyraider in the form for electronic warfare (ECM) in 1:72 scale from the maker A and A Models. The kit is usually complemented by photo-etched parts, masking templates and decals for several American naval machines. It is the wide-body AD-5 version with the crew seated side by side.
The Skyraider was a single-engine carrier attack aircraft with a piston radial engine, fielded long into the era of jet machines. The wide-body AD-5 version had a reworked fuselage with the crew side by side and served in many specialized roles. The AD-5Q form (later redesignated EA-1F) carried equipment for electronic warfare and jamming, with which it supported strike packages. The type became famous for its large load-carrying capacity and its long endurance over the battlefield.
Finish the detailed cockpit and the interior before the wide fuselage is closed. Protect the glazing with the masks supplied and glue the clear parts with a glue for clear parts. Use a liquid modeling cement on the plastic and cyanoacrylate on the fine photo-etched parts. Apply a primer before painting and put the naval schemes on with an airbrush. Fit the external pods and the electronic warfare equipment at the end and fix the decals on a gloss clear.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
