Amodel 1:72 ASM-A-1 Tarzon (VB-13) is a plastic kit of the large American guided bomb of the late 1940s. It is not a model of an aircraft but of the bomb itself.
Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the American ASM-A-1 Tarzon (VB-13) guided bomb in 1:72 scale from Amodel. Note: the model represents the bomb itself, not an aircraft. By available accounts the package holds plastic sprues and photo-etched parts. It is an interesting collector object and an accessory to models of heavy bombers.
The Tarzon was an exceptionally large radio-guided aerial bomb that the US Air Force developed at the end of the 1940s and used in combat in the early 1950s. It combined a massive charge with an aerodynamic guidance shroud and was meant for destroying heavily fortified targets such as bridges and dams. Heavy bombers dropped it.
Dry-fit this small model and sand the joints of the shroud carefully so that they disappear. Glue the photo-etched control surfaces with cyanoacrylate. A primer will even the surface out; a metallic or dark shade of the shroud can be picked out with a light wash. Suited as a display piece on a stand or as an accessory to a diorama.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
