Antonov An-30 1:72 is an injection-molded plastic kit of the Soviet aerial survey aircraft from the Ukrainian maker Amodel.
Responsibility details are not available.
This 1:72 scale kit captures the twin-engined Antonov An-30 built for aerial mapping and photogrammetry, with its characteristic glazed nose. It is an injection-molded plastic model from the Ukrainian brand Amodel; the box holds parts in gray plastic, clear parts and a decal sheet. The D designation refers to the long-range variant of the real subject.
The An-30 (NATO reporting name Clank) is derived from the An-24 transport and was developed for aerial cartography. The glazed nose with a station for the navigator and the camera equipment made it a specialized survey machine; the aircraft served for mapping extensive territories and for observation flights. It was built in Kiev in the 1970s.
Amodel kits are short-run, so count on cleaning the parts up and test-fitting them before gluing. Mask the glazed nose and the cabin and glue them on at the end. Use a thin glue for plastic, fill the joints and sand them down. Lay a primer on before the top coat; the large areas of the wings and fuselage spray best with an airbrush.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
