The 1:72 AN/ALQ-119 ECM pod (long length version) set from Reskit is a 3D printed jamming pod in the longer rendering, in 1:72 scale. An accessory to a plastic aircraft kit, not a model of its own.
Responsibility details are not available.
A store accessory for modelers who want to build their aircraft in a configuration with an electronic warfare pod. According to the name this is the longer length rendering made by 3D printing. The part therefore has no parting line that would have to be sanded down on a rounded body, and it holds the sharp edges of the covers and the small protrusions.
The AN/ALQ-119 is an American electronic warfare pod that was hung on the pylons of tactical combat aircraft. It was made in several length renderings, shorter, medium and longer, and the length is precisely the most conspicuous distinguishing feature. The AN/ALQ-184 pod later followed on from this type. When building to a particular photograph, compare the length and the shape of the tail so that you reach for the right variant.
Cut the part off the supports with a sharp knife, sand the marks wet with fine sandpaper and polish the surface. Apply a primer. A longer pod is a conspicuous body, so it pays to spend time on a smooth surface and a straight hanging: test the seating on the pylon dry and watch the axis. Apply decals on a gloss base, even out the surface at the end with a matte or semi-gloss varnish and add only mild weathering. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue).
The set is an accessory to a plastic kit, which it does not replace. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted; glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
