HäT 8190 ANZAC heavy weapons is a 1:72 set with thirty-two figures and four support weapons of the First World War.
Responsibility details are not available.
This set of plastic figures in 1:72 scale supplements the infantry sets with what they lack: support weapons and their crews. The package contains thirty-two figures and four heavy weapons, among them a heavy machine gun, a light machine gun and a trench mortar. It is supplied unpainted and unassembled.
The abbreviation ANZAC denoted the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps, which entered history above all through the landing on the Gallipoli peninsula in 1915 and later through the fighting on the Western Front. The equipment and weapons were of British pattern, so the set suits British units too; the recognizable mark among the Australians was the slouch hat, though at the front the soldiers commonly wore a helmet. Machine gun and mortar detachments formed the support without which infantry in trench warfare could neither attack nor hold its ground.
The weapons have small parts, so have tweezers ready and work over a surface. Do not mix the khaki into a single shade for all the figures; a slight variation looks more natural. Darken the metal parts of the weapons and polish only the edge gently. Place the crews on a common base at natural spacing around the weapon, and the group will then read as one whole.
The figures are supplied unpainted. Paints, glue and bases are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
