An injection-molded plastic kit of the Czechoslovak Avia C-2B trainer, the post-war continuation of Arado Ar 96 production. The model from the Czech maker Smer is an undemanding classic kit meant to be glued together and painted, and an interesting piece of home aviation history.
The Avia C-2 came into being after the Second World War in Czechoslovakia as a continuation of production of the German Arado Ar 96 trainer. It served to train the pilots of the post-war Czechoslovak Air Force and became one of the typical training machines of its day. The C-2B version followed on from the Ar 96B.
Finish and paint the two-seat cockpit under the long glazing first. Clean up the flash and dry-fit the parts before gluing. Glue the plastic with thin cement; a primer is worth using. Apply the colors with an airbrush and bring out the panel lines and the metal surfaces with a light wash and dry-brushing.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
