A plastic kit of the tropical Bf 109G-2/Trop version in 1:72 scale from the Hobby Boss Easy Assembly range. The set has a simplified layout with a low part count and large assemblies, so it builds quickly. The boxing contains a clear cockpit part and decals for two color finishes.
The Trop designation was carried by Bf 109 machines adapted for service in the dusty heat of North Africa and the Mediterranean. The basis was the early G-2 sub-series with the Daimler-Benz DB 605 engine. The tropical modification added above all a dust filter on the intake and further field equipment for operating in desert conditions.
The build is undemanding thanks to the large parts, but we still recommend cleaning up and filling the joints. Use liquid modeling cement on the plastic and apply a primer before painting. Desert camouflage comes out well with an airbrush; wear and dust can be suggested with pigments and washable shades.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
