Bf 109G/K - decal spirals for the propeller spinner, 1:72 (AZ model)

A standalone decal set from AZ model in 1:72 scale. It holds waterslide decals of spirals for the propeller spinner of the German Messerschmitt Bf 109 fighter in the G and K versions. It is a markings accessory, not an airplane model: you use the set on a Bf 109 kit that is already built or under construction in this scale. The sheet carries several variants of the spiral for different machines.

The subject

The spiral on the propeller spinner was a characteristic feature of many German fighters of the Second World War. In rotation it produced a striking optical pattern, and today it is one of the recognizable details that give a model an authentic and eye-catching look. Painting such a spiral by hand is demanding, so a decal makes it far simpler and more accurate.

Use

• cut the decal out and dip it in lukewarm water for a few seconds
• slide the decal onto a gloss surface on the spinner, for example one coated with varnish, and position it
• blot off the excess water and use a decal softener so that the decal settles onto the curvature
• once it has dried, coat it with clear coat for protection and to even out the sheen

This is a standalone decal set. An airplane model, paints and glue are not included in the package.
