A sheet of British national insignia in 1:72 scale, the third in a series of sheets devoted to Royal Air Force roundels.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Royal Air Force entered the conflict with a colorful circular marking, but the bright colors gave an aircraft away on the ground and against the sky. During 1940 the white ring therefore disappeared from the upper surfaces and only a muted two-color version remained, a yellow outline was added on the fuselage sides and a three-color stripe settled in on the fin. The shades also differed according to where and with what the marking was sprayed.
The sheet is aimed precisely at British national markings and is the third item in a family whose earlier sheets came in versions tailored to individual aircraft types. It will be appreciated by a modeler whose original decals have yellowed in an older box, by anyone building a machine with no markings, and by anyone who wants sharper markings than the ones that came with the kit.
In 1:72 scale the marking on the fuselage is only a few millimeters across, and every distortion or misplacement shows on the finished model. The work is made easier by sharp tweezers, a cotton swab to draw off the water and the patience to keep sliding the motif across the film of water until it sits exactly right.
The package consists of the sheet of markings for small scale on its own. The aircraft and paints are not part of the delivery.
