HäT 8003 British rocket troops is a 1:72 set with twenty-four figures, four launchers and four carts.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of plastic figures in 1:72 scale with twenty-four figures, four launchers and four carts, roughly one hundred and twenty parts in all. It is a subject that appears only exceptionally in what modelers are offered, and yet this was a weapon that commanded great respect in the Napoleonic wars. It is supplied unpainted and unassembled.
At the start of the nineteenth century the British army adopted war rockets derived from the Indian patterns it had met in Mysore. The rocket was inaccurate but cheap, easy to move and, against horses and inexperienced infantry, devastating to morale: it flew with a tail of fire, it roared and where it landed could not be predicted. It was launched from a simple stand or from a trough and the crew carried it on a cart. The British rocket troops took part, among other things, in the fighting in Germany in 1813, and their presence in a model formation tends to be more interesting than another battery of conventional guns.
The launchers have thin rods, so separate them with a sharp knife and do not bend them. Assemble and paint the carts before you place the load on them. British uniforms have a pronounced red that should be built up in layers over a light base, otherwise it stays muddy. The wooden parts of the carts are brought to life by a thin glaze drawn into the joints.
The figures are supplied unpainted and unassembled. Paints, glue and bases are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
