Injection-molded plastic kit of the Italian Carro Armato M13/40 medium tank in 1:72 scale from the fast assembly range of the maker Italeri. The package contains two models and thanks to the low part count it offers a quick, straightforward build that suits beginners and wargaming as well. The decal sheet contains general Italian markings as well as specific insignia. Check the exact contents against the manufacturer's part number.
The M13/40 was the main Italian medium tank of the early part of the Second World War, taken into service in 1940. It was the first Italian tank of domestic design with a rotating turret carrying a 47 mm gun. It replaced older machines that had proved inadequately armed and armored against British vehicles in North Africa. The M13/40 was deployed above all on the North African battlefield right up to the Italian surrender in 1943.
This is a fast assembly kit with a small number of parts; even so, glue the joints with thin cement for plastic and clean them up. Finish the running gear first, then close up the hull. Italian tanks from North Africa wore sand shades with irregular blotches; after the base color and the gloss coat under the decals, bring out the detail with a wash and suggest desert dust with pigments.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
