HäT 1:72 Carthaginian Allies is a set of forty-eight figures of the allied and mercenary detachments of Hannibal's army.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of plastic figures in 1:72 scale from the brand HäT. The package contains forty-eight figures in eight poses on four identical sprues. Gauls, Libyans, Celtiberians and Lusitanians are represented, so from a single box you can build a varied formation of allies. The figures are unpainted and molded in one piece.
In its wars Carthage leaned on allies and hired fighters more than on its own citizen infantry. Hannibal's army in Italy consisted largely of Gauls from the Po valley, Libyan infantry from the African hinterland and fighters from the Iberian peninsula. Each group kept its own weapons and way of fighting, which made the Carthaginian army a mismatched but dangerous whole.
Wash the plastic in lukewarm soapy water, dry it and spray it with a flexible primer. Make use of the variety in the set: paint the Gauls in rich checked patterns, the Libyans in white tunics, and leave the Iberians white with a red border. If you sort the figures by nationality from the start, you will save yourself repainting. Vary the height of the grass and add fine gravel on the bases; a monotonous line of forty-eight pieces gains depth that way.
The figures are supplied unpainted and unassembled. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
