Responsibility details are not available.
A set of plastic figures in 1:72 scale from HäT. The box holds fifteen figures in five poses and twelve horses. Assembly calls for only a little gluing; the riders have to be seated in the saddle. The figures are unpainted and go with the British colonial units in the same range, with which they make up the mounted element of a formation.
British cavalry in the colonial campaigns of the late 19th century had other work to do than in Europe. Open country, a shortage of water and a mobile enemy meant that the horse mostly patrolled, screened columns and pursued. A charge in close formation was rare, and all the more conspicuous for it, above all in Sudan and in South Africa.
Wash the plastic, dry it and spray it with a flexible primer. Colonial khaki sits in sand and gray-brown tones, while the tropical helmet and the straps tended to be lighter. Seat the rider in the saddle only once the horse is painted. Build the dust up on the hooves and the lower legs of the horses with a light pigment; the formation gains its African setting at once.
The figures are supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
