An injection-molded plastic kit of the Curtiss H-75 fighter in the A1 and A2 versions in 1:72 scale from Arma Hobby. It is a modern, newly developed kit with fine surface detail; the package contains parts in light gray and clear plastic, self-adhesive masks for the glazing and the wheels, a decal sheet for several marking options and access to a file with details for 3D printing. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
The Curtiss H-75 was the export version of the American Hawk 75 fighter (the P-36 in American service), powered by a Pratt & Whitney radial engine. The H-75A1 and A2 versions delivered to France differed above all in engine power and in the number of machine guns. The French machines used during the fighting of 1940 were, despite the simplicity of their design, among the agile and well-liked fighters and scored a number of aerial victories.
Use a thin cement for plastic applied into the seams by capillary action. Finish and paint the cockpit and the landing gear before closing the fuselage up. Use the enclosed masks for a clean spray of the glazing and the wheels. Apply a primer before painting and spray in thin coats with an airbrush; the French camouflage of 1940 comes into its own once the panel lines are picked out with a wash and the surface is evened out with a clear coat.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
