Responsibility details are not available.
A short-run injection-molded plastic kit of the American export biplane Curtiss Hawk II in 1:72 scale from the Czech manufacturer RS Models. The kit is complemented by small resin parts and photo-etched elements for fine detail. As a short-run model it is intended rather for more experienced modelers. Check the exact package contents and the range of markings against the manufacturer's part number for this item.
The Curtiss Hawk II was the export version of the carrier fighter of the Goshawk (F11C) family from the beginning of the 1930s. It was powered by a Wright Cyclone radial engine and the machine was sold in small numbers to a number of countries. One of the best-known examples was flown by the German fighter ace and aerobatic pilot Ernst Udet. It was a typical open-cockpit biplane of the interwar era with fixed landing gear.
With short-run kits expect to clean the parts up and to remove the sprue gate remnants. Wash the resin parts free of mold release agent and glue them with cyanoacrylate glue. As with any biplane, do not forget the bracing wires - add the wires between the wings and to the fuselage with stretched thread only after painting. Interwar machines often carried colorful finishes; bring out the panel lines with a restrained wash.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
