D-Day DUKW. British Amphibians No. 1 – 50 Coy (GT) and 299 Coy (GT) is a Star Decals sheet of wet decals in 1:72 with the markings of British amphibious vehicles from the landing in Normandy.
Responsibility details are not available.
A sheet of water-lifted decals in 1:72 scale from Star Decals with the markings of the British DUKW amphibious trucks from the period of the landing in Normandy. It is not a kit – they are sheets of markings for lettering a finished model. This part of the series concentrates on the vehicles of the companies 50 Coy (GT) and 299 Coy (GT) of the British supply corps.
The DUKW was the American six-wheeled amphibious version of a truck, which the British also used on a large scale to carry supplies from ships directly onto the beaches. During the invasion in June 1944 these vehicles played a key role in the logistics of the beachhead. They carried tactical numbers, unit markings and transport codes of the British army, which this sheet reproduces.
Apply the decals onto a smooth gloss varnish. Cut the motif out, soak it briefly and slide it into place. A softening solution will help a decal adhere to the recesses and the edges of the canvas; a final matte varnish then takes the sheen off the markings into a military look and protects them.
The product is a set of decals. The model of the vehicle, the paints and the softening solutions are not included in the package.
