HäT 8069 Dacians is a set of plastic figures in 1:72 with forty-eight figures of the ancient opponents of the Roman legions.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of plastic figures in 1:72 scale with forty-eight figures of Dacian warriors. It belongs to the range devoted to the opponents of the Roman empire, so it naturally complements the sets of legionaries and auxiliaries in the same scale. The figures are supplied unpainted and stand up well to both a tabletop game and a display case.
The Dacians inhabited roughly the territory of present-day Romania and at the turn of the first and second centuries became Rome's most dangerous opponent on the Danube frontier. They entered military history above all through a curved two-handed weapon called the falx, whose point could reach over the edge of a shield. It was precisely because of this weapon that legionaries had their helmets reinforced with transverse bands and added a forearm guard; it is one of the few documented cases in which the Roman army modified its equipment because of a single opponent. The Dacian wars ended with the territory being annexed to the empire.
Dacian figures are suited by a lack of uniformity: work with several muted earth shades and do not aim for the impression of a uniform. The curved weapons are thin, so separate them with a sharp knife and do not bend them. Furs and cloth are brought to life by a dry brush on the edges. You unify the whole with a common tone on the bases at the end, not with the color of the clothing.
The figures are supplied unpainted. Paints, glue and bases are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
