An injection-molded kit of the Dewoitine D.520 in 1:72 scale from the manufacturer RS Models in captured Luftwaffe markings — the French fighter in German service.
Responsibility details are not available.
A short-run plastic kit of the French fighter Dewoitine D.520 in 1:72 scale from the Czech brand RS Models. This release concentrates on captured machines in German service with the Luftwaffe. The package holds gray injection-molded parts, clear cockpit parts and a decal sheet with German markings.
The Dewoitine D.520 was the best performing French fighter of the Battle of France in 1940 — an all-metal low-wing monoplane with a Hispano-Suiza 12Y engine and a speed of around 520 km/h. After the defeat of France production continued and a number of machines fell into German hands. The Luftwaffe used the captured D.520s mainly as trainers and auxiliary fighters; they flew in German markings and camouflage, which makes them an attractive and unusual subject. Some of the machines were passed on to Germany's allies.
On a short-run kit, dry-fit the parts, clean up the sprue gates and fill the gaps with putty; apply a primer before painting. German training schemes tend to be simpler than the French camouflage, and an airbrush will handle the even areas as well as any yellow identification markings. Lay the crosses and the other markings over a gloss varnish so that the decals do not silver.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
