Eduard 1:72 F-104J Starfighter painting masks are a set of self-adhesive masks for accurate masking of the glazing and other transparencies while spraying F-104J Starfighter models.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is a set of self-adhesive painting masks in 1:72 scale by the Czech maker Eduard, intended for models of the F-104J Starfighter fighter. The masks are not a model or a kit but an accessory that markedly speeds up and improves the accuracy of painting the canopy glazing and other transparent or tiny parts.
The masks are cut from a thin kabuki film that follows the shape of the canopy frames exactly and adheres even into curved surfaces. Applied to a clear part, they let you spray the frames in the airframe color without going round them by hand with a brush and without paint creeping under the edge. They are also used for masking wheels, position lights and other places where a sharp color edge is needed.
Degrease the glazing before applying the masks, place the parts with tweezers and press the edges down firmly. Apply the paint in thin coats, ideally with an airbrush, and peel the mask off while the paint is still fresh. Any adhesive residue can be removed with a mild cleaner.
This is an accessory for a model. The model itself, paints and glue are not included in the package.
