1:72 F-35 Lightning II pilot (scene 2) (3D Printed) is a printed figure of a contemporary fighter pilot in a standing position, in the second variant of the stance.
Responsibility details are not available.
A printed figure of a pilot in 1:72 scale, intended for a model of the contemporary F-35 Lightning II fighter or for a diorama around it. The stance differs from the first variant of the same pilot, so the two can be set up side by side in one scene without looking like two copies. Even in a small scale, printing holds the folds of the flight suit and the shape of the bulky helmet, which is usually the first thing lost on injection-molded figures.
The pilot of the F-35 wears a helmet with a built-in display, which replaces the conventional head-up display above the instrument panel. The helmet is therefore larger and more angular than on previous generations, and on a figure that is the main recognition feature. The flight suit and the anti-g trousers match contemporary equipment, so the figure cannot be mistaken for a pilot of an older type even at a glance.
The printed parts are held on thin supports. Snip them off close to the figure and level the face with a scalpel. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Apply a primer before painting. In 1:72 scale the face is suggested rather than painted: a base skin tone and a light shadow are enough. Leave the helmet at a different level of gloss from the flight suit, as the difference in surfaces brings the figure to life.
This is an accessory, not a complete model. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
