An injection-molded plastic kit of the American Northrop F-5E Tiger II light supersonic fighter in 1:72 scale from Hobby Boss. Unlike the smaller simplified aircraft in this manufacturer's range it is a classic, more detailed kit with a well worked cockpit and landing gear and with transparent parts. Check the particular contents of the package and the decal options against the item's part number.
The F-5E Tiger II was a twin-engine light fighter powered by a pair of General Electric J85 jet engines. It came about as an improvement of the F-5 series and became one of the most widespread light fighters of its era — thanks to low operating costs, good handling and supersonic performance it was used by the air forces of a number of countries around the world. It was deployed for air defense and training and it still serves in the aggressor role today.
Cut the parts from the sprues and glue clean joints with a thin modeling cement for plastic. Glue the canopy glazing carefully, ideally with a cement for canopies, so the plastic does not fog. Lay down primer before painting; it covers best with an airbrush. Paint and pick out the cockpit interior before the fuselage is closed up. After the gloss varnish and the decals emphasize the panel lines with a wash and add fine wear.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
