Model Set is a complete starter set with an injection-molded plastic kit of the American carrier fighter Vought F4U-4 Corsair in 1:72 scale from Revell. The advantage is that besides the model the package also contains basic paints, a brush and glue — an ideal gift and a first model with nothing left to buy. The kit offers a detailed cockpit, a radial engine and a movable propeller; the decals make it possible to build a particular version of the aircraft.
The F4U Corsair was one of the most successful American carrier fighters; for its characteristic sound in flight it earned the nickname Whistling Death. The F4U-4 version from the end of the Second World War had a more powerful engine and a better rate of climb and served in the Korean War as well. The inverted gull wing shape is typical of it.
Glue the parts with the enclosed cement for plastic and sand the seams down. Finish the cockpit and the engine first, then close the fuselage up. Apply the enclosed paints with the brush in thin coats. Before the decals we recommend coating the surface with gloss varnish and then flattening it down.
