Two Soviet FAB-500 M-54 aircraft bombs of the 500 kg weight class in 1:72 scale as external stores for models of combat aircraft.
Responsibility details are not available.
The FAB-500 M-54 is a Soviet high-explosive fragmentation aircraft bomb of the 500 kg weight class, introduced to a pattern from the mid-1950s. The number in the designation therefore gives not the caliber but the weight class. Against older bombs it has a shorter and stubbier body, because it was shaped for external carriage under fast jet aircraft, where air resistance matters more on a store than a neatly slender profile. At the rear it is stabilized by four fins. It was carried by a wide range of Soviet attack and fighter-bomber aircraft and spread with them to further countries as well.
The set holds two bombs in 1:72 scale. A bomb is the kind of element on a model that is recognized from a distance: a pair of bodies under the wing changes the silhouette of the aircraft and hints at what the machine was prepared for at that moment. That is exactly why it pays to give them the same care as the airframe.
Two bombs are supplied according to the breakdown on the packaging. The aircraft kit, pylons, decals, paints and glue are not included, unless stated otherwise.
