This kit in 1:72 scale captures the British light jet fighter Folland Gnat in its FR.1 reconnaissance version operated by the Finnish Air Force. It is an injection-molded plastic kit; the model is supplied unassembled and unpainted and offers the markings of Finnish reconnaissance machines.
The Folland Gnat was a compact British subsonic fighter with swept wings, of exceptionally small dimensions. In service it was used above all by the Finnish and Indian air forces. Two of the Finnish airframes were delivered in the FR.1 reconnaissance configuration with cameras built into the nose; they flew reconnaissance and mapping tasks while keeping their gun armament and the ability to act in the fighter role. The little Gnat was popular for its agility and low running costs.
Given the small dimensions of the real aircraft as well as the 1:72 scale, take care over the clean fit and the exact seating of the clear canopy parts. A thin cement for plastic, a primer and an airbrush in thin coats all prove themselves. Pay attention to placing the decals of the reconnaissance machines exactly according to the enclosed instructions.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
