HäT 1:72 French Ammunition Caisson is three ammunition caissons with a team of four and with drivers.
Responsibility details are not available.
A kit in 1:72 scale from the brand HäT. The package contains three ammunition caissons, a team of four for each of them, that is, twelve horses in two poses, and six figures of drivers in a single pose, two per caisson. The parts are supplied unpainted and have to be assembled. The set belongs to the Napoleonic baggage train and gives French artillery its support.
The ammunition caisson was an inconspicuous but indispensable part of the artillery. During a day of battle a battery used up hundreds of rounds, and without continuous replenishment it would quickly have fallen silent. Under the Empire the French baggage train went through a reform and became a military branch with a discipline of its own, which improved the reliability of supply in the field, where hired civilian carters had helped out before.
First line the parts up dry, above all the wheels and the axles, so that the caisson stands level. French wagons and gun carriages had an olive green finish with dark ironwork, and you bring the wood out with a glaze drawn along the grain. Unify the horses into two shades and set the draft harness apart in a dark brown. Set the long team of four on a common base, as otherwise the whole rig will fall apart into pieces with nothing to tie them together.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
