1:72 French Artillery Napoleonic Wars

French Artillery – Napoleonic Wars, 1:72 scale, Italeri

A plastic set of unassembled and unpainted figures of French artillery from the Napoleonic Wars, in 1:72 scale, usually including the guns and their crews. This is an injection-molded plastic figure set suitable for building, painting and for use as an artillery battery in a diorama. Italeri is a well-established Italian maker of plastic models and figures.

The real subject

Artillery was one of the decisive arms of the Napoleonic battlefield — Napoleon himself began as a gunner. The crews loaded and served smoothbore muzzle-loading cannon and howitzers whose fire prepared the way for the infantry and cavalry attack. The figures capture gunners serving their piece.

Building and painting tips

• Cut the figures and the gun parts from the sprue and clean up the mold seams.
• Use a suitable cement or super glue on the softer plastic; apply a primer before painting.
• Paint with acrylics — a base coat, shadows in the folds and a dry brush on the edges.
• Bring the wooden gun carriages to life with wood tones and the metal parts with dark steel, then add a light patina.

Who the set is for

• For modelers and diorama builders working on the Napoleonic Wars.
• For wargamers who need an artillery battery in 1:72 scale.
• For collectors of historical figures.

The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
