Responsibility details are not available.
A set of plastic figures in 1:72 scale from HäT. The box holds twelve riders in four poses and horses to go with them. The uniform matches the cut that the French lancers were given in 1812. The figures carry the straps and the cartridge pouch for a carbine, but the carbine itself is not part of the casting. The plastic is unpainted and the riders have to be seated in the saddle.
The French lancers came about after 1807 on the Polish model, which had convinced Napoleon in the war in the north. A lance with a pennon gave a rider the advantage against infantry in open order and against a horseman without one, but it called for longer training. Their characteristic headgear was the four-cornered cap of Polish origin, the czapka, which stayed in the cavalry long after the fall of the empire.
Wash the plastic, dry it and spray it with a flexible primer. The lances are thin and long, so glue them on at the very end and paint the pennon in a deep color, as it is the main accent of the formation. Pick the four-cornered cap out with a lighter edging. Seat the rider in the saddle once the horse is painted. If you want carbines, they have to be added from another source.
The figures are supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
