An injection-molded plastic kit of the German King Tiger heavy tank (Sd.Kfz. 182, Tiger II) in the version with the Henschel turret in 1:72 scale from Trumpeter. The package holds plastic parts, one-piece flexible tracks, decals and assembly instructions.
The King Tiger, also designated Tiger II, was a German heavy tank used in the closing stage of the Second World War. Thick sloped armor and an 88 mm gun with a long barrel made it a feared opponent. The Henschel turret had rounded frontal armor and became the most widespread form; it differed from the earlier turret with its larger cutout.
Assemble and paint the running gear, the road wheels and the tracks before the hull is closed. An airbrush suits the late-war three-color scheme; the large armor surfaces invite fine modulation of the shade and the picking out of welds, edges and traces of combat wear with washes and pigments.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
