Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the British fighter biplane Gloster Gauntlet in the version with markings from the period of the Munich crisis of 1938, in 1:72 scale from the Czech manufacturer AZ model. It is a short-run kit; depending on the particular edition the package may hold small resin and photo-etched accessories besides the plastic parts. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
The Gloster Gauntlet was a single-seat fighter biplane of the Royal Air Force (RAF) that served in the second half of the 1930s. It was powered by a Bristol Mercury radial engine and it was the last RAF fighter biplane with an open cockpit. At the time of the Munich crisis in the autumn of 1938 the Gauntlet was still in the armament of a number of squadrons, before more modern all-metal monoplanes replaced it. Its agility and its high rate of climb for the day were characteristic.
On a biplane, the key points are setting the interplane struts precisely and then rigging the bracing wires – have stretched sprue or a special modeling thread ready. Short-run parts have heavier sprue gates, so expect dry-fitting and possibly sanding and filling. Spray the base over a primer; the silver areas and the squadron color markings come out well over a smooth gloss base, on which the decals settle better.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
