Model-Set is a complete starter set with an injection-molded plastic kit of the American carrier fighter Grumman F-14D Super Tomcat in 1:72 scale from Revell. The great advantage is that besides the model the package also contains basic paints, a brush and glue — everything needed for the build is together in one place, ideal as a gift and as an entry into modeling. The kit offers a detailed cockpit, movable swing wings, a detailed landing gear and rich external stores including drop tanks and missiles.
For decades the F-14 Tomcat was the backbone of the air defense of American aircraft carriers. The F-14D version was the most modern variant, with new engines and updated avionics. Its characteristic feature is the variable-geometry wing, which swung automatically in flight according to speed.
Glue the parts with the enclosed cement for plastic and sand the seams down. Finish the cockpit first, then close the fuselage up. Apply the enclosed paints with the brush in thin coats. Before the decals we recommend coating the surface with gloss varnish. Assemble the swing wing mechanism carefully so that it stays movable.
