A photo-etched set from the Czech manufacturer Eduard for detailing the outer surfaces of a 1:72 model of the American Grumman TBF-1C Avenger carrier-based torpedo bomber. It is not an aircraft kit but an accessory that refines the surface items which injection-molded plastic cannot capture at the right thickness. The base kit is Hobby Boss.
The photo-etched parts replace and supplement the fine exterior detail: access covers, grilles, locks, small panels and other surface items. Once assembled, the model looks markedly more faithful and gains fine, three-dimensional surface detail.
Separate the parts with a sharp knife on a hard surface, bend them in a bending tool and attach them with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Degrease the metal and treat it with a primer before painting for good paint adhesion.
This is a modeling accessory. The Hobby Boss base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
