An injection-molded plastic kit of the Chinese tactical jet bomber Harbin H-5 in 1:72 scale from Trumpeter. The H-5 is the Chinese production version of the Soviet bomber Ilyushin Il-28; the fuselage of the model is conceived so as to correspond to the Chinese configuration. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted, with a decal sheet and instructions.
The Harbin H-5 is the Chinese license-built version of the Soviet twin-engined tactical bomber Ilyushin Il-28 (NATO reporting name Beagle). It was one of the first jet bombers used in large numbers; it is marked by a straight wing, a glazed navigator's nose and a defensive tail gun turret. Chinese H-5s served for many years with the People's Liberation Army Air Force and in a number of further countries as a tactical bomber and a training machine.
Separate the parts from the sprues, clean them up and glue them with thin cement for plastic. Mask the glazed nose and the cockpits carefully. On a bomber with a natural metal finish, shades of aluminum applied with an airbrush come out well; the metal surfaces can be graded. Pick out the engraving with a wash and unify the surface according to the required sheen. Consider weight in the nose depending on the balance.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
